Banana Eggy Bread Baby Recipe - Mummy to Dex (2024)

Eggy breadis one of my favourite baby led weaning breakfast foods to make, but it can get a little boring, hence why I created this banana eggy bread baby recipe which uses a banana alongside the usual ingredients to create a slightly different eggy bread recipe.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, setting you up nicely for the rest of the day, whether you’re off to work or staying at home with your baby. I am a firm believer in sharing meals with your baby- it makes life so much easier and saves you having to cook one meal for them and one meal for you, resulting in you cooking six times or more per day!

This banana eggy bread recipe is perfect for you to share with your baby. It’s super yummy, it’s a lot less messy than serving scrambled eggs on toast and it can be served alongside yummy fruits too creating a healthy and delicious breakfast that’s packed full of nutrients and will keep you feeling full.

Why offer banana eggy bread to your baby?

Bananas are a fantastic food to offer to your baby as they’re packed full of potassium, Vitamin C and Vitamin B-6, whilst eggs are full of Vitamin D.

Eggs are fine to offer to babies from six months+ as long as there are no known allergies in your family, but of course, the first time you offer them, make sure you look out for any reactions and contact your pediatrician or GP if you have any concerns.

Eggy bread is super popular amongst Mums because of the lack of mess it involves compared to offering scrambled eggs on toast or an omelette thanks to the eggs adhering to the bread when you cook it. Baby led weaning is of course a messy business, but we keep the mess at bay with aBiBaDO coverall bib, a plastic catch-all bib and by using the Ikea Antilop highchair which has a large tray.
